Teaching complements my passion for photography. I use my experience in portraits, live entertainment and street style to inspire students to express their creativity and find their voice through the lens.
I have had the privilege of working with the Josephine Herrick Project (JHP), a nonprofit organization in   New York City that offers free photography programs to diverse communities, including at risk youth, immigrants, veterans, and people with special needs. I have taught at The International High School at Lafayette and LaGuardia International High School, where I focus on fostering pride in students' achievements, helping them discover their creative potential.

Summer 2024: Over four weeks, students took intensive photography classes, completing assignments focused on street style and portraiture techniques. During the tethering activity, students worked in groups to photograph a classmate, review their images, and select the best for printing and display in the school hallways. At the end of the program, each student chose two final prints from both styles taught in class. The course concluded with an exhibition showcasing their selected prints.

Fall 2024 - Winter 2025: With a strong representation of Hispanic youth and students from diverse backgrounds, these individuals are exploring photography’s potential to shape their careers. Graduating from LaGuardia’s Commercial Photography program was a full-circle moment for me, as I applied the lessons from an inspiring group of professors. Now, back in the same building, I teach and share my passion for photography. This program, co-created with Joana Toro, a talented documentary photographer from Bogotá, blends our strengths—Joana’s street-style documentary expertise and my focus on portraiture. The final exhibition featured students’ best work, reflecting their chosen styles, from street photography to portraiture.
